What's the difference between layered, zebra, and banded shades?
Same shade, three names: alternating horizontal bands of sheer and solid fabric on a continuous loop — align the sheers for view-through, offset them for privacy. Hunter Douglas calls theirs Designer Banded Shades; Graber says layered shades; "zebra" is the nickname the stripes earned.
What's the difference between Silhouette® and a zebra shade?
Construction and mood. Silhouette® suspends soft fabric vanes between two sheer layers — light stays diffused and glowing even when the vanes open. Zebra bands are a single layer of alternating stripes — crisper, more graphic, with true open view-through when aligned. Softness versus geometry; we demo both side by side.
